Do male frogs wrestle with female frogs?

I know there is dominance between male rivals and female rivals in frogs species due to territory and breeding. Has anyone had any problems with opposite sexes of the same species fighting leading to stress in the viv?

The short answer is yes.

It's not uncommon for sexed and breeding pairs to get into a shoving match from time to time. Usually it's only a brief squabble and no harm is done. But sometimes an aggressive female can be relentless enough to kill a mate. Female tincs and pumilio can be the most aggressive in our experience, especially WC animals.

Before deciding to vent my tanks to give my breeding tincs a rest from breeding I decided to save some space and just keep the males together. I put a male Powder in with a male Cobalt (in a tank that was new to them bith) and they fought like no tomorrow. Needless to say, I had to seperate them after about a minute of being in the tank together.
