Default Thumbnails?

I have been doing a lot of research over the past year and I'm wondering what would be a good beginner thumb that is bold and not very hard to breed?
Thanks in advance

I'd say ventrimaculatus would be best. Imitators and Variabilis would also be good choices.
I got my vents the same time as my leucs as both first frogs and they've been doing great so far.

Make sure everything is sealed very carefully and temps/humidity are spot on and you should be ok.

I mainly keep larger frogs but I have Imi's, Iquito's Vents, and have had Pums (traded them away). I moved the Pums along because I knew somebody coudl do a better job with them than I could. I consider the Vents my prettiest frog (from pictures, I hardly ever see mine) but i would recommend Imi's in a heartbeat to anyone. I think one of the most demoralizing and nerve wracking things (especially if you are relatively new) is when you can't see/find your frogs. IME vents disappear when you even get near their tanks, but the Imi's could care less. They are beautiful, bold, fairly priced, and want to breed more than you will ever want them to.

I have borja ridge vents and have had them about 2 weeks.
Not once did I look in the tank and have not been able to see at least 2 of the 3.
I've heard many times vents are supposed to be shy but mine are as bold as can be.
Always up against the glass or hunting ff's, showing their little head through the broms.
I don't find them shy at all.

I say get what you like in the end you'll be able to take care of it if you really want to.
Best of luck.

Intermedius. They were the first frogs I got and theyve been out in the open every day since. They also have a pretty pleasant call that sounds like a cross between a cricket and a cell phone ring to me. I believe they are pretty easy to breed, but I have three males right now so I cant confirm.

In my opinion two good starter thumbnails are Variabilis & Imitator Nominant. Both are pretty bold with the later being more bold.

A lot of people and books would swear by the vents... very nice choice for a "beginner" thumbnail... but my personal favorite is the intermedius.. bold, vocal, colorful.. I also love imitators...
