Default Planning issues...

So it has been decided by the powers that be that I need to limit myself to four tanks in the new house when we move. The problem here is that I plan to have 2 of those be fish tanks, and the other two to be frogs. The wife will get her own tank of frogs. She prefers a smaller setup with just a couple of D. Auratus (green and bronze). She calls them mint chocolate chip...
I on the other hand, have a limit of two frog tanks and would like to have medium to large full blown display tanks. But anytime I find a frog that I wouldnt get tired of looking at, it seems that they have compatibility issues. (females together, ect) I would like to see if I could get some advice.
I like D. tinctorius (Powderblue) and (Oyapock). I seem to be very partial to frogs in black and white. However, these frogs seem to have problems being kept in groups. I also like some different vents, however, these are touted as being rather difficult to keep.
I am looking for something along these lines, that can be kept in a small group (4-6), and that will be able to be seen. If I can figure out what i want, then I can figure out how to build for them.
Anything helps. Thanks...

Irish

All of the tinc species (azureus included), should be kept alone or in sexed pairs.

They would have to be, because those are the ones that catch my eye.
Any suggestions? (Dont like leucs, they seem to be a common suggestion.)

Thanks

A lot of suggestions on the "bold, beautiful, and good in groups" thread.

You might consider terribilis, big bold, and great in groups. Your choice of mint, yellow or orange. I know they aren't black and white but they do fit the other ideas of large tanks and group frogs.

Depending on your budget you might give a group of Veraderos a shot. They're bold frogs that do great in groups. A little on the small side, though. Bright orange, black and dark blue.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I am looking into both. However, I seem to be running into a wall trying to find anything about veraderos. (Did I overlook it in the care sheets?) Anyone know of a good place to start looking?

Thanks again...

I don't think you mentioned the size that the tanks will be. Have you thought about a group of super blues or blue and black auratus. They tend to do better in group senarios than tinc's. People claim that they are shy but I have to manually push mine back into their zoo med when trying to feed them. Mine are in a fairly busy room right next to my tv. This might help in bringing out their boldness. Plus there's alot of cover in their tank. Hope this helps

Sorry, I forgot that in your original post, that you said your wife is getting auratus! How bout standard lamasi? They are on the bigger side as thumbs go. They can be on the shy side but I've learned how to approach mine as not to spook them to much. My guests rarely see them though.

I know you like black and white frogs, how about some yellow galacts though? I have a trio and one of them is more a cream/black rather than yellow. They do fine in groups and I see them just about all the time, they also don't get spooked when I open the viv or anything. Another plus is they are plenty active and climb around the tank all the time including up the background to the top.
