Default What a deal!

I just went to petco and bought the last 12x12x18 exo terra they had for $20! So ill be starting into the hobby. I was originally going to build my own but that was a good deal. I went to home depot but they were out of egg crate appearantly =( so ill start constructing soon. I figure ill do a false bottom with the foam background, id like to do a water feature too. Any ideas what frog to put in there? Ive been eyeing the azureus but would it be too big for this tank?

Azureus would be too big. The foot print of that tank is small, so you may be limited in terrestrial frogs. A few imitators would work. Also, keep in mind that water features can take a lot of the frogs usable space, especially in a tank that small. Water features are really not needed, unless you just like the look.

It may be easier to use Leca instead of a false bottom for that size viv. I picked up 2 of those exo terras for 19.99 each myself last week and plan to use the Leca on those. You may find it harder to build an eggcrate bottom for that small viv, Leca is easier as you just pour it in, put some screen over it, and add your substrate. Done!
Good luck,

I'm actually starting a build using this very same enclosure, and my solution is to set a small PVC pipe with slits cut into it (maybe 1/2 diameter) down into the drainage layer, and use simple aquarium tubing to siphon off accumulated water when necessary. A small foam plug to cap the pipe to prevent frogs from getting downside and getting stuck when not in use. I really don't want to deal with drilling.
