Good idea or bad idea?

I am setting up my first viv and happened to find an orchid on sale for $10. So I started thinking that I could maybe mount it to a piece of wood and put it in the viv. But the more I think about it the more I am second guessing my idea. So, I am looking for some help and opinions about whether I should keep the orchid or not. Oh, and it isn't done yet. I still need some plants on the background and some leaf litter. Here is a pic of how I have it set up:

That is a Phalenopsis and my experience has been that they do much better living on a window sill than in a vivarium. I think you will find that it rots fairly quickly in a vivarium.

It can work, but you'll need to make sure that there is plenty of air movement. Also, do your best to make sure that water doesn't collect in the crown of the plant. As mentioned, phals are susceptible to rot if kept in moist stagnant environments.

You'll want to get a small computer fan, wrap it in fiberglass screen to keep frogs out, and mount it inside the viv, pointing at the orchid. This will keep the air moving without reducing humidity too much.
