Default what is the best way to seal up the gaps in the egg crate?

hello all

ok i am putting the screen covred egg crate in the viv and i see there is a gap all the way around it and i wanted to know what the best way to seal it up would be .
i was thinking of going around the border once with great stuff. dose that sound right ?

also i cut a corner out of the egg crate and siliconed in a film cannister with the bottom cut off so i can get to the water on the bottom and then put the cap back on so the frogs cant get in it looks like it will work but what do you think?

great stuff "would" work for the gaps, but if you plan on removing the eggcrate at some point (to clean the tank), you are better off using larger sized lava rock, leca, styrofoam, or gravel around the edges.

If you can fill the edges with large enough drainage material, you wont have to worry about the smaller stuff falling in between the cracks, and will still be able to access the bottom for whatever reason.

I like your film canister w/top idea for accessing the water, but you'd have more wiggle room if you used a piece of pvc piping (you can also get fitted pvc caps to fit whatever size from home depot/lowes). This way you can go larger, or if nothing else, longer than a 3" canister if you wanted.

Cut your screen larger than you need and fold it up the side of the tank. That's what I do with my 10gs.

I second what Mike said. I do the exact same thing.
