Default Baby Crickets

I just got back last after being gone (almost a week). Had a neighbor spray down my viv (no frogs) while I was away

Upon my return, I noticed I now have a bunch of pinhead crickets hopping around in there - They must have hitch hiked in on plants or moss

Is this good, bad or other? Probably won't have frogs in there for another few weeks to eat them

Thanks

What kind of frogs? Most tincs and such will probably not eat them at the 2-3 week size, but phyllobates and leucs wuld probably munch them down!

They wont hurt your frogs, but they will eat plants.

It's only a 10g vert, so frogs will likely be imi's, pums or vents.

The crickets will probably be too big for them by the time I get 'em, so Ill try and manually remove them before they eat everything!

Thanks

If there is nothing for the crickets to eat then they will probably just die off. If you are too worried about them then I would get some sticky fly paper or something like it and put it in your tank. They will get stuck to the paper and die. But I wouldn't be to worried about them though.

Later,
Brad

Ive employed a 'spear' method before - just take a length of heavy guage wire (or even a straight peice of coathanger), and sharpen the edge, and bend it a little, to create a hook. Then, just spear em! Of course, only when they are several weeks old.

My favorite method of removing crickets from places they shouldnt be, however, will always be placing a vieled cham on your hand, and aiming him at them! Entertaining, and he gets a free meal!
