It all depends on what you want to do with the tank. Do you want a false bottom, Great stuff background, water feature, what types of plants...etc. It can cost a lot to set up a tank. It all depends on what you have in mind. I and many others can try to help if your more specific. Maybe paste a picture of what you have in mind......Sara

Tank: $20-40
Lights: $30-150
Plants: $20-75
Hardscape: $20-40
Water Feature: $0-25
Foam: $5-15
Odds N Ends: $20

It varies greatly. What kind of viv did you have in mind? Certain plants, a waterfall? What kind of frogs are you considering? Its easy to spend a small fortune, but if planned out, you could make one for around $100.

Why not just plan what species you would like to start out with, then save and set up the vivarium. By the time you have money saved up to purchase frogs, your viv will have grown in and you'll have mastered the art of culturing FFs. For a 20g, Id figure between $150-250.

its just the fact that i get 5 bucks a week only and like i d rlly have that much money at the moment. i mostly like the pdf vivs because like i been reading and it seems that like u set the tank up and all u need to do is feed and mist and take dead plants out. no major scrub downs cuz a doo doo cuz of the natural bacteria. sound like my kind of thing. plus i LOVE frogs and stuff and the tanks are beautiful. i know it can be expensive

If your parents are anything like mine were when I was younger, and they knew I took the time to research and plan out a project (ie price everything, make a plan, list out what you need, read up on it), they might be willing to give you some extra chores to earn some extra money. Feel free to pm me if you need help putting a list of everything you would need, and where you can get it.

Hey, if you're really into it, you'll try and find ways to make more money(or save as much as possible). That's my first little point. ( I make a decent living as far as work, but I do sidejobs for friends and such for extra cash, b/c xtra cash is always really nice in this little world) My second point is look around your house and relatives', I'm sure someone has some pothos or other suitable plants in a planter just hanging around, ask them if you can take a cutting to stick in some water so you can grow your own. And check out garage sales for tanks and such, theres tons of info on the site as to cleaning them and preparing them for PDF use. Just use your imagination and think of ways to pinch pennies. An auratus isn't an expensive frog as far as PDF's go, maybe 4 weeks($20) worth at best price. Best of luck and we've all been there, just try and be patient, easier said than done, i know.
