If it is possible to meet halfway, I'd do that instead.
Things you should do...Molded styro cooler, gel-packs (I even use these in winter, at room temp...they really stabilize the temperature in the box), carefully seal all the seams on the cooler and the box.
Get a min/max thermometer, (one that has an outdoor transmitter, to give an in/out reading makes it nice to do this test), and test and fine tune you're packaging...you may want to try freezing one of the gel packs, but test to make sure the package doesn't get overcooled.
Take the package directly to the hub it will fly out from...not to the nearest drop off station, right to the hub, and drop the package off just before cut-off...then have the package held at the office on the receiving end...they usually keep the package in a controlled environment, and in most cases you can pick up you're package well before 10 am...
This way, the package is not seeing the high afternoon temps in transit.
Furthermore, look at the extended outlook and (obviously) pick the day to ship that would have the mildest temps.
