Tincs seem to prefer smaller foods, once crix get much bigger than 1/8”, I do not feed them to my tincs because they sometimes snub them at that size and then I have to worry about fishing out adult crickets in a few weeks. Actually a few of my tincs are significantly longer than my terribillis, but they are built different so the terribillis weigh more.

Terribillis are a great beginner frogs and although tincs are one of my favorites, you do not run into the issues of separating females when they become adults like you do with tincs/azuerus. As Corey said, aurotaenia are great beginner frogs, but they are only 1/3 the size of terribillis so do not meet your requirement of a large frog.

Terribillis are so cool. They remind me of little bulldogs. Well.....at least from their pictures. I haven't seen them in real life though, unfortunately they are extremely rare in the "Great State -O- Canada"!

Keep your eyes peeled on the Classified section....they come up for sale more often than you think....

a few ideas as to who has them....

Scott Menigoz (SMenigoz) had some awesome looking mints at IAD and you might want to contact him.

Joe Nickerson breeds orange terribilis and may have some available...

There are quite a few more options around but these two come to mind.
