Default drain

I want to put a drain on the bottom of my dart frog tank. Does anyone have any advice on how I should do this? What kind of drain do I use? Thanks!

What size tank is it? If it's a 10 gallon it's probably made out of tempered glass so you can't drill it. Other than that, do a search on drilling and find out how to drill a hole, then install a bulkhead.

Another option is to just put some airline tubing in the bottom and hide it. Then when you need to drain water off, just siphon it out of that airline tubing.

If your 10 gal. is an All-Glass tank, the bottom isn't tempered and is drillable.

Here is the specs on their (All-Glass) tanks. Click "technical information button"

As MR2 said, 10g tanks aren't tempered, they're thin which makes drilling them difficult because there is less material to support the hole, thus it cracks easily. Tempered glass doesn't crack, it expoldes into tiny cubes.

To help you more we're going to need more info: the size of your tank, if you have a false bottom or a drainage layer, what kind of drain are you thinking about, do you have the money to get a diamond core bit and a drill press type fixture...

Its a ten gallon and I will be using LECA on the bottom. The siphon tube sounds easy enough. Thanks for the help!

Yep, I built mine right in. It extends a couple inches out of the top and is hidden.
