I've been using one of these for a year or two:
Josh's Frogs - compression sprayer - hand/pressure misting
It is adjustable from a very fine, almost fog-like mist, to a steady stream of water. It can also sit for several days, fully pumped, without losing much pressure. I have mostly automated misting, but do have a few tanks I hand-mist.
