Well some people group them as thumbs since they are on the smaller side but they do have their own genus Oophaga so they are separated from the rest of the Ranitomeya. Besides that I would suggest a vertical setup with just as much ground space. My pair climbs alot, but I also see them on the ground as well.
They are fairly readifly available, just post a wnated ad for them and I'm sure you'll get some hits. They are also on the lower price end of pumilios and are quiet hardy for a pumilio so they would be a good pumilio to start with. Just make sure if you decied to purchase them their are yellowish ones and orange/gold ones. I think you'd want the orange/gold ones which I beleive are the 2008 imports.
