it's a horizontal tank.
i haven't actually received my plants yet but i put in an order at Spring Valley tropicals for a few pepronias and bromeliads.
you guys have given some good advice though, ill continue to monitor the tank's temps until the frogs are introduced. I'm thinkin i should probably go ahead and get the 18 watt lights, for the plants and for the extra added heat, they really are very cool running bulbs...
