I've only owned my darts for about a month now, but I've actually been using rain water in the water dish as well as for misting. I can't say for certain that it's a direct result of the rain water, but the plants in my tank are growing and multiplying like crazy! I also use strictly rain water for my house plants and they do very well without any fertilizer at all!
