I think most folks use a combination. Aged/treated tap water is used for eggs, tads, and frog ponds and the RO water is generally used for misting because of the water spotting. I'm not sure about the filter you've proposed, it will probably leave water spots when misting with it, but it might be fine for the eggs and tads?? "Toxins" is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days and means different things to different people. A more defined list of what is being filtered/removed might be helpful.
