Default Tap vs. R/O

I recently read where some people might be using dechlorinated tap water for their frogs vs. Reverse Osmosis (RO). As I am new, I would like to know the general consensus if you will.

Also, I own a Kold-Steril unit, and wonder if anyone might be using that to cleanse their frog water. It removes the toxins from tap water without removing the DOCs, so TDS is still at tap water levels.

Thoughts?
