My experience echos Alan's in that my bastimentos use the foliage and upper reaches of the viv quite a bit....I have them in a 25 gallon high. This is in contrast to a morph like Man Creek where it is not uncommon to find them rumbling down at substrate level. I personally think that the best compromise with pumilio is to provide them with both floor space and climbing room and let them chose what they prefer at any given time.
